Different strokes for different folks

Dear X Tattoo,

Salamat sa iyong comments na galing pa all the way from South Korea. Kahit nega siya about Ang Ladlad political party, siyempre I approved it. That is the heart and soul of democracy.

You mentioned that in the Philippines, the gays wear female clothes. Ang tawag sa kanila, generally ay transgenders. They think and feel that they were born in the wrong gender. Kaya nga they are willing to go through a sexual-reassignment surgery, to change their gender. But not all gays are like that.

I’ve watched ANC last week or last last week I think that’s why I’ve become aware of your blog and it really ROCKS.

Well as of the post, I do believe in it. I have many friends who are members of the third sex. Minsan.. HINDI. Madalas, mas masaya pa ako pag kasama ko sila dahil TOTOO silang tao and they are so reliable lalo na ang mga gays.

I for one wouldn’t mind if we have gays in the Senate. Apart from that it would breathe fresh air into the Jurassic minds we have in the upper legislature, the more important point is that it truly sends the impressions that this nation is a democracy. Prejudice based on gender is really not the issue. It’s the (political/social) position which matters the most. One cannot rub more salt on wound, or on this wounded nation, than resorting to discrimination. The last time I checked, the law is not designed to disciminate and turn the concepts of “equality and fairness” into mere hallucinations of the mind.

To cut the chase, I for one wouldn’t mind if Danton Remoto decides to bid for a senatorial slot. We can, of course, give him the chance to do so. Why even bother calling our nation a democratic nation if we don’t even live what we preach?
